Installation Package for Windows (9.8 MB Executable file)

This executable will install DWSIM ou your computer. Administrator privileges are NOT required for the installation of DWSIM itself. If you don't have Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 on your machine, the installer will try to download and install it for you - and then you will need administrator privileges... ;-)

Documentation - v1.6

Technical Manual (English) (410 KB PDF file)

Unit Operations and Utilities Guide (English) (3.0 MB PDF file)

User Guide (English) (3.9 MB PDF file)

Command Line Run Mode Guidelines (English) (170 KB PDF file)

The documentation in English language is installed together with DWSIM by default, but can be downloaded separately for your convenience.

Source Code

Build 3676 Source Code (7.6 MB ZIP file)

This is the complete DWSIM source code in VB.NET, which can be compiled with Visual Studio 2008 (Express Edition is supported - and actually used for development...) and SharpDevelop. There are no external dependencies, just open the project and compile it!

SVN Interface @ SourceForge.net

You can check the latest developments on the source code by using the SVN interface from the SourceForge's project page.

Sample Flowsheets

Petroleum Distillation (514 KB DWSIM file)

This is an example of distillation of an oil stream generated by the petroleum characterization utility.

Cavett's Problem (1.6 version) (452 KB DWSIM file)

[description taken from COCO website] R.H. Cavett (Cavett, R. H., 'Application of Numerical Methods to the Convergence of Simulated Processes Involving Recycle Loops', American Petroleum Institute, 43, 57, 1963) devised a now famous problem to test tearing, sequencing and convergence procedures of flowsheet simulation programs. The flowsheet is equivalent to a four theoretical stage near isothermal distillation (rather than a conventional near isobaric type).

Pressure Swing Azeotropic Distillation (216 KB DWSIM file)

[description taken from COCO website] Methanol and acetone form a minimum temperature azeotrope but the composition of this azeotrope is sensitive to the pressure. We can make use of this to separate the two components into pure products by operating two columns at different pressures.

Distillation Column (152 KB DWSIM file)

Simple distillation column example.

Reboiled Absorber (128 KB DWSIM file)

Simple Reboiled Absorber example.

Natural Gas Processing Unit (528 KB DWSIM file)

NGPU for LPG production process simulation, with the main streams/unit ops only.

Heat Exchanger Design Optimization (305 KB DWSIM file)

Minimization of the exchanger area (=cost) by using the built-in optimizer.

Heat Exchanger (202 KB DWSIM file)

Simple example of new heat exchanger properties and calculation modes.
