This tutorial helps you on getting DWSIM running on Ubuntu Linux.

Ubuntu 10.10, 11.04, 11.10

Step 1

Download DWSIM Mono Edition and extract the contents of the file to a folder of your choice. Point the console to that folder and run 'mono DWSIM.exe'. You'll get a warning about a missing assembly (Microsoft.VisualBasic):

Ubuntu 12.04, 13.10, 14.10

For newer Ubuntu versions, the process is a little bit different. Install Mono by following the instructions listed here. After installing mono-complete, install the Visual Basic compiler, which is required by DWSIM:

apt-get install mono-vbnc
