Running DWSIM on Ubuntu

This tutorial helps you to get DWSIM running on Ubuntu Maverick (10.10), Ubuntu Natty (11.04), which includes Mono 2.6.7 and Ubuntu Oneiric Ocelot (11.10), which includes Mono 2.10.

[edit] Step 1

Download DWSIM Mono Edition and extract the contents of the file to a folder of your choice. Point the console to that folder and run 'mono DWSIM.exe'. You'll get a warning about a missing assembly (Microsoft.VisualBasic):

To install the missing assembly, open the Synaptic Package Manager:

Search for 'visualbasic'. Install the library 'libmono-microsoft-visualbasic9.0-cil' and all of its dependencies.

After installing the Visual Basic library, try to run DWSIM again with 'mono DWSIM.exe'. You should get it up and running by now.
